bad taste aquarium
back in 2012 i grabbed the badtasteaquarium url on tumblr, and i did hold onto it as it slowly but surely became a place for me to go crazy-go-nuts about my very niche sonic headcanons. well, i guess they're not super niche. i make a lot of AUs, and part of me wanted to kind of dive into my own canon? if sega said "you can be head writer on a comic", this is what i'd do. sort of. i take some liberties. we're getting a little off track.
let's start over. bad taste aquarium for hot shelter: shadsy's sonic gijinka universes. i made TWO of them! they originally started as "normal and genderbend", but over time it became silly to think of them that way, especially since i really play fast and loose with whatever gender is going on in them. so now they're just A and B. they each have a little different things going on with them! i can play more with gently different characterizations and Scenarios. because i am a Shadow Guy there's a lot riding on how shadow is done and drives a lot of the stories. but you know how it is.

A verse
A verse is the premier verse, and the one that i do tend to focus on a lot. they're the guys in the banner above! some general notes on what's what:
- this is the 'verse where i indulge in biker adventurer amy rose: basically amy decides to adventure for herself and gets into all kinds of trouble
- shadow is a cyborg/android: the original basically died post SA2 and was rebuilt by eggman and GUN. he gains his own true will and integrates fully through his own journey with the help of the chaos emeralds
- maria lives, albeit briefly!
- silver and blaze arrive from the bad future a la 06, but have a heavily modified 06 plot
there's some other things, but they're a little more character specific. i guess that's my bread and butter. this universe will have archie characters in it.

B verse
B verse is the flip side! we've got a banner to showcase them now! while a lot of the characters ARE genderbent, it's not necessarily the rule. some of the highlights:
- sonic has siblings, the underground kids!
- generally more of a hip city vibe, especially with team sonic
- shadow is an alien in this verse, and there's a whole black arms invasion arc rather than an SA2 scenario
- silver is from a good future but travels back to the past to ensure that the good future comes to pass. different time loop situation.
- blaze is a local prince, more or less fills princess elise's role, but has a little more cool factor. (though this is my city so i make elise cool over in A too)
- UNLEASHED ARC. BUTCH WEREWOLF SONIC
this universe will incoporate more IDW characters!
